Adventurer: AKA Gregg
OK, This is My version of a "Club" Adventurer: Here's the rundown; Vintage Head came from my good buddy Ron, Vintage Neck came from another buddy, Jon (who also sent a head too, but Ron's was a bit better condition.....Meanwhile the other head went to another buddy) The Head was reflocked by Club Hair (only the best!) and the body is a TC repro off a Jackie Johnson (D&V) fig. The Uniform came from Paul (GI Joe 1966) and is near mint with an original AT sticker. The Boots are 40th (saving the vintage boots for vintage feet) and the Holster is from the Meijers Joe and the Pistol is from the GIJCC (I like their silver one better than the grey Meijers pistol....and I don't mind the inconspicuous "r" on the pistol. I hope the new GIJCC Adventurer comes out just as nice cause alot of my buddies are looking forward to it! Maybe someday....I'l upgrade my guy to all vintage....but until then..........I'm quite happy with the way Gregg came out!ET

Don't you just hate flash photography and those awfull shoadows ;)

I took a poll and it's unanimous--MY troops are envious of YOUR troops! :lol
My one, lone, vintage Fuzz-head had a kinda whistful look on his face and I swear, I saw him blink repeatedly, as if trying REAL hard not to shed a tear!
*Sigh* I need some more Fuzzies...just to keep him company, ya think? He might have new clothes and such, but there's a generation gap for him and the rest of my guys and ladies. Poor guy. :(
BG, are you referring to the Vintageness of my Troops? Yep, there's nothing like a vintage fuzzhead. A Club-Hair reflock (on a vintage head) is the next best thing. Vintage clothes are nice too...they don't make em like they used to (China has yet to catch up with the quality of Japan, HK..and even Taiwan)
If you read some of my comments on another Board....I said something to the effect that it's only when you get the original, vintage Joes that the void can be filled of better days past. All the modern and repro stuff in the world just won't fill the void....perhaps making the void bigger since it's a constant reminder of what you need but don't have.
So take my advice and GO VINTAGE

ET, I AM struggling with this, man! There is so many cool vintage items around, but my wallet will only stretch so far! I am darn near "out-of-control: with my Joe habit as it is! :lol I'm trying to be very selective with my purchases, especially for vintage items, and I am buying itmes that have a good appeal for me AND having some utilitarian purpose for my collection.
Fer instance--I just picked a really nice set of tools from the Mummy's Tomb set--the pick-axe and shovel. My Repro troops AND the modern troops can ALWAYS use more "pioneer" tools, ya know? :)
It's good to be selective! I only pay top dollar for the best condition stuff........and I know some very reasonable dealers.
Hey, just to give you an example: I just picked up a vintage PH Joe for $35 . It had a few hair/brow rubs...but he looked sharp and the price was right.....Oh, forgot to mention...he's a red-head;)
Pick ax and shovel.....good stuff.
I got a nice set with the paint still on for the Mummy Tomb set I'm working on. I'm basically a few small parts away from completion....but hey, I should set it up now and photochop it on a nice desert background.
